Kanye West Says Daughter North West Will Be the ‘Hands-Down Greatest’ Talent Ever
Kanye “Ye” West garnered more attention than ever at the start of 2025. He and Bianca Censori performed a viral stunt at the Grammy Awards. Ye then published a series of controversial tweets about his wife, family, and beliefs. In an interview with Justin Laboy, Ye announced that he believes his eldest daughter, North West, will be the “hands-down” greatest talent to exist in the music industry.

Kanye West has high hopes for his daughter, North West. Photos and videos show North and Ye together in the studio as he helps her develop her creative voice. Ye is currently spending ample time in Tokyo, Japan, to complete his next album, Bully. Clips showed North visiting Ye at his recording studio and seeing what he does while abroad.
Ye spoke to Justin Laboy about how he feels he’s a “natural teacher” and wants to cultivate North’s talent.
“I was always into the idea of having a school,” Ye explained. “Both my mom and my dad were professional teachers, so that makes me a natural teacher in my blood. I’m just thinking how her album’s gonna be. How insane, like, everything that I learned, that I could have it flow through her also. And for her to become the next frontier. Because we’re like the kings in Africa or something, where it’s just passed down. I’m the hands-down greatest. She’s gonna be the hands-down greatest.”
In January 2025, Ye posted a photo of North on Instagram. “This little girl made me love music again,” he captioned the post, according to Page Six. “She asked me to make beats for her I got back on the ASR Chopped up beats for her album and chopped every beats with my bare hand for BULLY [sic].”

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have four kids, and Kim is already overwhelmed by North West’s budding career. In a clip from The Kardashians, the reality star admits to feeling the pressure with her oldest daughter.
“I thought I was busy before,” Kim says while talking to her mother, Kris Jenner, and her sister, Khloé Kardashian. “North — me having to be her momager right now, is crazy. Like, it’s just, it was not on my list. It was not on my bingo card for this year.”
“It’s a lot of work,” Jenner affirmed.
“I would not be in the mood,” Khloé chimed in.
“I’m not ready!” Kim added. “If she has a shoot, I have to be there all day. So it’s like, her and me.”
“I’m really conflicted on my daughter’s career, so we’re gonna talk about that soon,” Kim tells the cameras privately. “I just really want to make sure that everything’s really well-balanced; all of the work experiences are balanced out with just enough fun life experiences. I just want balance.”
Kanye West allegedly thinks a full-time move to Tokyo could benefit his kids
A source told In Touch Weekly that Kanye West is considering moving to Japan full-time.
“He’s still able to see his kids, and he loves being able to expose them to a different way of life outside their bubble of LA, so he sees nothing wrong with making his permanent home so far away,” the insider noted of Ye’s possible move. “If anything, he thinks it’s good for them to have a different perspective.”
While Ye chases his creative endeavors, Kim Kardashian says she’s raising their four children on her own.
“But sometimes in the middle of the night, when they’re all sleeping in your bed kicking you and crying and waking up — it’s not something that I talk about a lot because I feel like there is always a lot of judgment or people always will jump to the, ‘Oh, but you have the resources to have nannies and to have help,'” Kim said on iHeartRadio’s What in the Winkler? podcast. “And I just think that no matter what kind of help I have, basically raising four kids by myself.”
