Kim Kardashian Is Adding a Wing to the Home She Once Shared With Kanye West
Kim Kardashian and the West kids have packed up and are moving from their Hidden Hills home, at least for a little while. Kim Kardashian has embarked on an extensive renovation project that is expected to take over a year to finish. When it’s done, it will result in a complete overhaul of the sprawling home, including a brand new wing and a “his” closet.

Kim Kardashian’s Hidden Hills home is about to get much bigger. Kardashian is renovating the house to add a new wing, including a closet for “him.” During a recent installment of The Kardashians, Kim told her mother that she was “manifesting” her next great love by adding a “his” closet to her newly renovated property. Additional plans will see a complete transformation of the stark-white living space.
From the sounds of it, Kim Kardashian is turning the property into exactly what she wants now that he’s free of Kanye West and his influence. The renovations are expected to cost millions, but that doesn’t seem to bother the billionaire. She has already sunk a massive amount of money into the home.
Kim Kardashian fought to keep the home during her divorce
Kardashian and West purchased the house in 2014 for $20 million. After closing on the home, they set out to completely reimagine the property. They hired Belgian designer Axel Vervoordt to transform the residence. West told Architectural Digest that their design inspiration was a “futuristic Belgian monastery,” characterized by its serene, all-white interiors and minimalist aesthetic. The couple also added essential features, like a recording studio, to make their life work more seamlessly.
After their divorce in 2021, Kardashian kept ownership of the Hidden Hills home. She bought West out of the property for $23 million. West moved out, though he maintained a nearby residence. Kardashian doesn’t appear to have any interest in leaving it anytime soon.
Kim Kardahian is no stanger to rennovations
Kardashian’s current renovation project might be her biggest undertaking yet, but the business mogul is no stranger to real estate or renovations. Her interest in real estate began in 2005, right around the time she became a household name. She purchased a Beverly Grove condo as her first home. She sold it in 2010.
Following the sale, Kardashian acquired a $3.4 million Tuscan-style mansion in Beverly Hills in 2010. In 2013, she and Kanye West bought their first home together. They dropped $9 million on a Bel Air estate. The duo renovated the house before selling it for a profit in 2017. According to E! News, they sold the home for $17.8 million.
Kardashian has also gobbled up additional properties that she uses for different purposes. She even added a beach house to her portfolio. She acquired a Malibu estate for $70.4 million in 2022. It was previously owned by Cindy Crawford.
