Lizzo dropped a new single and a lot of weight before she attended an Oscars after-party hosted by Vanity Fair on Sunday night. The “Pink” singer has experienced a rollercoaster ride of drama over the last year. You’d think she was laying low unless you’re an avid follower of Lizzo’s social media. In that case, you might not be surprised to hear that Lizzo looks different these days.

Fans have followed along as the notoriously honest singer and flutist has shared her weight loss journey via Instagram. On January 25, Lizzo posted a bathroom selfie in an eggplant-colored sports bra and matching leggings. The “About Damn Time” singer captioned the pic, “I did it. Today when I stepped on my scale, I reached my weight release goal. I haven’t seen this number since 2014! Let this be a reminder you can do anything you put your mind to. Time for new goals!”

The post included a screenshot of her health outcome. Although it didn’t explicitly state her weight, it indicated that Lizzo lost 16% of her body fat. Her BMI was also 10.5 points lower than when she started her health journey. One year prior, in January 2024, the Yitty shapewear founder announced her weight loss goals. She shared that this process was about her health and well-being, not the aesthetics of being “skinny.”

“I am actually on an intentional weight-loss journey right now,” Lizzo explained. “Even at the end of my weight-loss journey, I’m not going to be considered thin by any means. I will still be considered morbidly obese on the BMI. And little bros on the Internet are still going to call me big backed. But I will be happy.” Fast forward to last night when Lizzo stepped out for Vanity Fair’s annual Oscars after-party — one of Hollywood’s most star-studded events.

The 36-year-old wore a strapless black gown that was anything but boring. Lizzo’s bodice featured a sweetheart neckline with tapered edges reaching toward her collarbones. The gown’s black bodice and mermaid-style silhouette hugged her notably slimmer waist while the sheer taffeta train showed off her toned legs. Lizzo walked the red carpet in strappy black heels and kept her accessories to a minimum with a few diamond rings and dainty bracelets.

Today, she shared a series of Instagram photos from the red carpet with the caption, “I might make an appearance cus I look this fine.” The post quickly gained nearly 150,000 likes, with one follower commenting, “Don’t let nobody make you feel like weight loss made you fine. You’ve been that girl.” Another wrote, “You been fooiiiinnneee…..! And I love the health journey.”

Lizzo wore her hair down in voluminous curls. She added a smokey eye and chocolate brown liner to her lips. The “Tempo” singer wasn’t alone on the red carpet. Her “life mate” Myke Wright, wearing an oversized greige suit, attended the Vanity Fair party alongside her. The longtime couple keeps their relationship mostly private. However, in 2022, Lizzo told Vanity Fair, “I’ve known him for over six years. He’s everything. We’re just in love. He’s the love of my life.”

Fans love this new version of Lizzo, who seems healthier and more content than ever. Between the release of her new ’80s-inspired single, “Love in Real Life,” on February 28 and her revamped body, the singer seems ready for her comeback era.
