Meghan Markle Gets Slammed for As Ever Product Error: ‘Incredibly Embarrassing’
Meghan Markle’s As Ever brand is finally here. With it, comes some growing pains. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, has reportedly had to apologize to customers about her limited edition honey following an error on launch day in what a royal commentator has called an “incredibly embarrassing” situation.
Meghan’s As Ever honey sold so fast her website couldn’t keep up
When As Ever went live on April 2, 2025, Meghan’s nine products, from honey to tea flew off the (digital) shelves. Within an hour of launching, every product was sold out. That included the Raspberry Spread in Keepsake Packaging ($14), Raspberry Spread ($9), Flower Sprinkles ($15), Limited-Edition Wildflower Honey with Honeycomb ($28), three types of herbal tea ($12/each), shortbread cookie mix ($14), and crepe mix ($14).
However, some customers soon discovered that the honey wasn’t on the way despite placing an order. Following As Ever’s launch, fans claimed they received an email from the company about what had “unfortunately happened.
“The excitement created a volume of traffic on the site that even we couldn’t have anticipated (with everything selling out in an hour),” the message read, per GB News. “The orders were happening so quickly that the backend of the site didn’t have a chance to keep up. The Limited-Edition Honey that you purchased was, unfortunately, already sold out.”
The honey ‘glitch’ is ‘embarrassing’ for Meghan as she goes the ‘girl boss’ route
Speaking to GB News, royal commentator Kinsey Schofield called the error “incredibly embarrassing.” Especially considering Meghan’s new podcast, “Confessions of a Female Founder” drops on April 8, 2025.
“Meghan Markle had to issue apologies to her As Ever customers,” Schofield said. Why? “Because they purchased and paid for a $28 bottle of honey, and Meghan didn’t have the product. So she had to reach out to those customers and say, ‘I’m so sorry, this product doesn’t exist. There was a glitch in the system.’”
The commentator also claimed customers received the option of a refund, another product, or eventually the honey. “They said you can have another product, you can have a refund, I’ll send you some honey at a later date,” Schofield went on. “But this is incredibly embarrassing for somebody that’s trying to brand herself as a girl boss.”
Meghan reportedly sent a message to the customers who missed out on the honey, writing: “I was so sorry to hear about what happened with your order, and that due to overselling we are not able to get you the Limited-Edition Honey.”
Meghan promised they’d get the next item in an upcoming drop. (As Ever’s drops are seasonal.) “No need to order, it will come to you in the mail as a gift from me,” she wrote.
It might be hard for As Ever customers to see celebrities get the honey and not them
Schofield continued, sharing that if she were an As Ever customer who’d ordered the honey only to be told it wasn’t on the way, she’d be “very angry” to see Meghan’s celebrity pals getting it for free.
“Hopefully, this is just episode one, but if I were a consumer, I’d be so angry watching all of the Kardashians and all of the famous friends opening up their As Ever packages, opening up their swag bags, knowing that I’m being told there’s not enough product when Kim Kardashian got hers for free.”
Since As Ever officially launched, many celebrities have shared videos and photos of deliveries they’ve received from Meghan, including a wooden box of her brand’s first nine products. Meanwhile, the As Ever site has since been updated to note that “all items are currently sold out.”
