Who Is Miami Heat Star Andrew Wiggins’ Girlfriend Mychal Johnson?
After being selected with the first overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers, Andrew Wiggins was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. In 2020, he was traded to the Golden State Warriors, where he won his first NBA Championship. Then in 2025, the athlete was traded again to the Miami Heat.
As Wiggins’ career took him to a few different cities, one woman has been by his side through it all and that’s his girlfriend, Mychal Johnson.

How long Wiggins and Johnson have been together
Wiggins moved from Ontario, Canada to Huntington, West Virginia when he was a junior in high school and that’s when he met Johnson.
Despite attending nearby high schools and getting to know one another then, some reports indicate that they did not start dating until their college days when they attended separate universities in different states.
Johnson is an athlete as well
Like Wiggins, Johnson is also an athlete.
She was born in Huntington, West Virginia, to parents Holli and Scott, and has three younger siblings.
She attended St. Joseph High School, where she excelled in basketball. According to her player bio, the team went to three consecutive Class A state titles. Johnson won the 2014 West Virginia State Player of the Year and the West Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year award twice. After graduating from high school, she enrolled in the University of Notre Dame where she continued to play basketball for the Fighting Irish.
Wiggins says that Johnson’s sports background helps her understand everything that he goes through on and off the court.
“She went to Notre Dame and played basketball so she gets the sacrifice and everything that I gotta go through day to day,” he previously told E! News. “But she’s been amazing just being there raising our kids to the perfect children that they are today. A lot of respect goes to her because she makes stuff happen.”
These days, Johnson is a social media influencer and has often shared her “Get ready with me” videos via TikTok. They give fans a behind-the-scenes look as she preps doing her makeup and putting together her outfits before heading to the arena to watch Wiggins play. She also made an appearance in a 2017 documentary about climate change titled Beyond Crisis.
How many children they have together
Wiggins and Johnson’s oldest daughter, Amyah, was born in October 2018, and their second daughter, Alayah, arrived in April 2021. In October 2024, Johnson confirmed with a few baby bump pics on social media that they are expecting a third child.
After the birth of their second daughter, Wiggins gushed: “Being a girl dad is the best. There’s nothing like it. I’ve got two little princesses that I love unconditionally. Every day is just the best.”
He added: “You can go to work or somewhere and not have the best day and come home and my daughters are just there waiting for me. They’re always happy, always in a good mood. I always feel so much love so they keep me going.”
