5 Must-Watch TV Shows in April 2025
Severance Season 2 has come to an end and The White Lotus finale is on the horizon. But even though some fan favorites are saying goodbye (for now), there’s no shortage of must-see TV to look forward to in April 2025. From a new comedy about a woman trying to rebuild her life in a small Arctic town to a fresh take on the Sherlock Holmes character, here are our picks for five shows to watch this month.
‘Dying for Sex’
A woman diagnosed with Stage IV breast cancer goes on a journey of self-discovery in FX’s new miniseries Dying for Sex. Michelle Williams plays Molly, who decides she wants to explore the full spectrum of sexual experiences after she learns her cancer has metastasized. Jenny Slate and Jay Duplass co-star in the inspired-by-a-true story comedy-drama, which is based on the Wondery podcast of the same name.
Dying for Sex premieres April 4 on FX and Hulu.
‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ Season 6
The final season of Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale premieres this month. In the conclusion of the award-winning adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s dystopian novel, June (Elisabeth Moss) is pulled back into the fight to take down Gilead as Luke (O-T Fagbenle) and Moira (Samira Wiley) join the resistance. Meanwhile, Serena (Yvonne Strahovski) attempts to reform the repressive state, Commander Lawrence (Bradley Whitford) and Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) reckon with the world they’ve worked to build, and Nick (Max Minghella) faces challenging tests of character.
The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 premieres April 8 on Hulu.
‘North of North’
Netflix’s new comedy series (and its first Canadian original) North of North, stars Anna Lambe (True Detective: Night Country) as Siaja, a young Inuk woman trying to rebuild her life after the very public collapse of her marriage. But that won’t be easy in the small town of Ice Cove, where everybody knows everyone else’s business.
North of North premieres April 10 on Netflix
‘Sherlock and Daughter’

Harry Potter alum David Thewlis becomes the latest actor to portray the iconic detective Sherlock Holmes in The CW’s new show Sherlock and Daughter. Blu Hunt plays Amelia, the young woman who believes Sherlock might be her father. Together, the unlikely pair must work to unravel a global conspiracy, find out who killed Amelia’s mother, and discover whether Amelia really is Sherlock’s daughter.
Sherlock and Daughter premieres April 16 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
‘Étoile’
The latest show from Gilmore Girls and Bunheads creator Amy Sherman-Palladino is a pointed comedy set in the world of elite ballet. The eight-episode series Étoile follows the dancers and artistic staff of two world-renowned dance companies as they swap their most talented stars in an ambitious attempt to save their storied institutions.
Étoile premieres April 24 on Prime Video.
