Jenelle Evans spent her weekend defending Nathan Griffith, then arguing with critics who think she’s trying to rekindle her romance with the father of her second son. If the Teen Mom alum wants to fall in love with Nathan Griffith again, she’ll likely need to do it during prison visitations; he has been arrested again. Griffith is expected back in front of a judge soon, but his situation currently looks pretty dire. He is currently residing inside the Clark County Detention Center after he was charged with domestic battery by strangulation. It isn’t his first offense, and he could end up spending years in prison if convicted.

Nathan Griffith has a lengthy arrest record

Nathan Griffith’s recent run-in with the law is not his first. The former reality TV star has found himself behind bars multiple times in recent years, and he’s no stranger to domestic violence charges. In fact, he has been arrested more than a dozen times, with several of those arrests being violent in nature.

While Griffith had been in legal trouble before meeting Jenelle Evans, Teen Mom fans likely remember his first domestic violence arrest, which was featured on Teen Mom 2. The March 2015 arrest came after a nasty fight with Evans. Two months later, Evans accused Griffith of trying to run her over, but no charges were filed.

He was arrested for aggravated assault, domestic violence, and driving under the influence in 2016, 2017, and 2019, respectively. In February 2023, Nathan Griffith was arrested for domestic battery by strangulation in Florida. In July of that year, he was arrested for domestic battery by strangulation in Nevada. The two incidents, just five months apart, had two different victims.

The former ‘Teen Mom’ star could spend years behind bars

Nathan Griffith has been given ample chances to stay out of trouble, but the veteran can’t seem to make that happen. His most recent arrest, for violence against his 21-year-old girlfriend after an argument, could result in a lengthy prison term. According to the U.S. Sun, Griffith could be imprisoned for up to four years for a probation violation alone. When he was granted probation last year, the 37-year-old former TV personality agreed to a lengthy list of rules and requirements. The recent arrest likely violates the terms of his probation, which could result in its revocation.

The charges against Griffith, even without the compounding factor of his active probation, are serious. Griffith is charged with domestic battery by strangulation, a class C felony. According to the Law Office of Kenneth A. Stover, the charge carries a sentence of up to five years behind bars.

Griffith is expected back in court on May 6. It is unclear if Evans, who was on social media all weekend defending the father of her son, has spoken with Nathan Griffith since his arrest. She admitted to being in contact with him the day police arrested him, though. She even took time out of her schedule to harass Griffith’s alleged victim on TikTok.

Griffith has been living in Las Vegas since 2023. Before his time in Vegas, the father of two resided in North Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida. His mother, Doris Davidson, lives in Tennessee. Evans moved to Las Vegas in May 2024.
