Amanda Bynes Joins OnlyFans, Insists There Will Be No ‘Sleazy’ Content
Amanda Bynes, best known for her work on Nickelodeon as a kid, is ready to take her talents to a new medium. Bynes, whose mental health struggles have made headlines for over a decade, recently announced her new career as an OnlyFans content creator. Bynes, however, plans to use the platform in a unique way.
Amanda Bynes will operate an OnlyFans account
Amanda Bynes is ready for her next money-making venture. While Bynes is best known for acting, she’s tried her hand at fashion design and influencing in recent years. She’s focused on art and even suggested she was penning a screenplay at one point. Now, she’s taking her talents to OnlyFans, but it’s not what you think.
The former child star announced her plans to open an OnlyFans account via Instagram on April 14. Bynes fans can pay $50 per month to connect with her, but they won’t get anything spicy for the fee. Bynes has set a clear boundary, insisting she is on the platform to chat with her fans and nothing else. There will be no adult content.
OnlyFans is a social media platform where content creators can connect with their fan base for a monthly fee. While it hosts a wide range of creators, the platform is most widely recognized for its association with adult content. Despite occasional efforts by the company to shift its image toward more general content creation, adult entertainment remains the most popular type of content on the platform. Content creators offering more mainstream content utilize other platforms, like Patreon, to reach their audience.
Amanda Bynes began to publicly struggle with her mental health in 2010
Amanda Bynes, as a child star, was praised for her maturity, work ethic, and attention to detail. She even appeared to be successfully parlaying her early success into an adult career. That all changed in 2010 when she impulsively retired from acting. Following her retirement, the world watched Bynes unravel. She was arrested for driving under the influence in 2012. The following year, she faced charges after tossing a bong out of her New York City window after police were called.
Twitter rants and more erratic behavior led to a psychiatric hold in 2013, resulting in a nine-year conservatorship. She was released from the conservatorship in 2022 with her family’s blessing. Everything didn’t go smoothly, though. Bynes was placed on a 5150 hold after experiencing a psychotic episode in 2023. According to the Los Angeles Times, Bynes is diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. She receives ongoing treatment for the condition.
