‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 5 Gets Another Addition to the Cast
The Only Murders in the Building Season 5 cast has a new addition: actor-comedian-producer-writer Jermaine Fowler. The multihyphenate, 37, is the latest star tapped for a role in the upcoming season of the award-winning Hulu series.
Jermaine Fowler will have a recurring role on ‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 5
In an exclusive on April 9, 2025, Deadline announced Fowler’s addition to the Only Murders in the Building Season 5 cast. Per the outlet, fans can expect to see the Ricky Stanicky star in a recurring role.
Details about his character, as well as other new additions, are “being kept under wraps.” That means no word yet on whether or not Fowler is playing a suspect in Lester’s (Teddy Coluca) murder. Or perhaps a fan of the podcast? Or maybe a new resident at th Arconia.
What is for sure, however, about the new season is that Fowler joins other Only Murders newbies. They include Renée Zellweger, Christoph Waltz, Téa Leoni, Keegan-Michael Key, and Logan Lerman.
‘Only Murders’ has featured many celebrity guests before
Having a star-studded cast is practically a staple on the comedy series. Only Murders in the Building Season 4 turned things up a notch—or 10—with many celebrity guest stars. So many, in fact, that it became a point of critique among some fans online.
Season 4, which premiered in August 2024, saw Mabel (Selena Gomez), Charles (Steve Martin), and Oliver (Martin Short) go to Hollywood. While in talks to make their podcast a movie, they investigated the murder of Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch), Charles’s longtime stunt woman and friend.
Production on the new season is currently underway in New York. There’s no official premiere date yet. Only Murders in the Building Seasons 1-4 are streaming on Hulu.
