Prince William Is Being ‘More Romantic’ With Kate Middleton After Cancer
Prince William is turning the dial up in the romance department for Kate Middleton. An insider says the Prince of Wales is determined to make “the most of their time” now that the Princess of Wales is in remission from cancer. What’s on the agenda for William and Kate, ahead. Hint: It sounds straight out of The Bachelor.
William is embracing his ‘second chance at life together’ with Kate
Speaking to Closer, a source claimed William, 42, is embracing his “romantic” side after Kate’s bout with cancer in 2024. “William has been incredibly supportive through Kate’s cancer battle,” the insider said. “He’s really proven himself to be a remarkable partner when the going gets tough.”
Kate announced her cancer diagnosis in March 2024. Apart from a few appearances—Wimbledon and Trooping the Colour—she stayed out of the spotlight, taking a break from royal duties. Kate revealed she’d completed treatment in September 2024 before later announcing her remission early in 2025.
Meanwhile, William’s father, King Charles III, announced his own cancer diagnosis just weeks before Kate’s. (The monarch’s treatment is ongoing.) The experience brought William to his “lowest,” a royal insider has since said.
Now, though, William is, per the source, zeroed in on making memories with Kate. “His big focus has been on making the most of their time and this second chance at life together,” the source said. “That means more romantic dinners, more long walks, and more holidays.”
“William really stepped up during Kate’s illness,” they added. “He took on so many extra duties even in the midst of supporting and his considerable heartache worrying about her. He has been the most doting husband, and everyone, including Kate, says so.”
A ‘romantic’ getaway is one of multiple summer trips William and Kate have planned
The outlet also reported that “summer plans” are currently in the works for the royal couple. The insider said William and Kate are “mapping out summer plans right now.” They include “the usual family trips to Cornwall and the Isle of Scilly.”
William and Kate are “also looking to take a romantic hideaway holiday just the two of them.” Not somewhere new, though. Rather, someplace they’ve gone before that holds a special connection to them. William and Kate are “talking about going back to the Seychelles, where they honeymooned,” the source said.
The future king and queen have traveled more now that Kate’s in remission. Already this year, they—and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—have reportedly gone to the Alps on a skiing trip and to the Caribbean island of Mustique for some fun in the sun.
William and Kate are also believed to be on vacation now, while George, Charlotte, and Louis have a break from school for Easter.
Kate Middleton revealed she’s in remission in January 2025
On Jan. 14, 2025, following a visit to the same hospital where she received cancer treatment, Kate revealed on Instagram that she’s in remission. “It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery,” she said in the caption.
“As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know,” she continued, “it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to.”
“Thank you to everyone for your continued support,” Kate added before signing off with “C” for Catherine.
