Rebecca Gayheart Spotted in LA After Eric Dane’s ALS Diagnosis
Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Rebecca Gayheart was out and about in Los Angeles on Monday, days after her husband, Eric Dane, shared the devastating news that he’d been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
The actor and model, 53, flashed a smile for photographers as she exited her black car. She wore a pink T-shirt emblazoned with the word “Loving,” as well as loose-fitting boyfriend jeans and glasses with bright red frames.

Gayheart has been married Dane, 52, since 2004. They have two children, daughter Billie Beatrice, 15, and Georgia Geraldine, 13. The Grey’s Anatomy and Euphoria actor recently shared that he’d been diagnosed with ALS.
“I am grateful to have my loving family by my side as we navigate this next chapter,” Dane told People. “I feel fortunate that I am able to continue working and am looking forward to returning to set of Euphoria next week. I kindly ask that you give my family and I privacy during this time.”
Dane began filming for Euphoria Season 3 on April 14. He plays Cal Jacobs, father to Jacob Elordi’s Nate Jacobs character, in the HBO series.
ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that causes muscle weakness and paralysis. It often starts with muscle twitching and weakness in an arm or leg, according to the Mayo Clinic. Eventually, the muscles needed to move, speak, eat, and breathe are affected. ALS has no cure and is ultimately fatal.
Other well-known people who’ve been diagnosed with ALS include the late singer Roberta Flack, Joe Bonsall of The Oak Ridge Boys, SpongeBob SquarePants creator Stephen Hillenburg, and physicist Stephen Hawking.
Gayheart recently withdrew her divorce petition

Gayheart filed for divorce from Dane in 2018, but the split was never finalized. In March, she asked the court to dismiss her petition to end the marriage. Shortly before her husband went public with his health issues, she shared an update on their relationship status.
“We are best of friends. We are really close. We are great coparents,” she told E! News on April 9. “We really figured out the formula to staying a family and I think our kids are benefiting greatly from it as we are as well.”
She added that even though she and Dane had had difficulties in their marriage, she did not see the relationship as a failure.
“I think it’s important to not look at a relationship that ends as failure,” she continued. “It’s just a season. It wasn’t a failure. It was a huge success,” she added. “We were married for, I mean, we are still married, but together for 15 years and we had two beautiful kids so I think that’s a successful relationship, and that’s how we look at it.”
