‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ alum Teddi Mellencamp shared an unflinching look at her cancer scars

Teddi Mellencamp is confronting a challenging chapter in her health journey. The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma in early 2025, has shown remarkable resilience. Initially diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in 2022, Mellencamp’s condition progressed when scans revealed tumors in her lungs and brain. Undergoing multiple treatments, including surgery, radiation, and immunotherapy, she recently shared encouraging news: Her tumors have either shrunk or disappeared. With just two more immunotherapy sessions planned, Mellencamp remains hopeful that she may soon be cancer-free.

On April 28, 2025, the Real Housewives star shared a photo on Instagram showing the scarring on the back of her head and shoulder. “It’s been 76 days since I went to the ER with unbearable headaches and quickly found out I had multiple stage 4 tumors ‘the size of plums’ in my brain and lungs,” she recounted in the post. “Melanoma had metastasized there and been there for ‘six months to a year’ and we had no clue.”

Mellencamp noted that since discovering the tumors, she’s had “multiple surgeries, had rage from the steroids, felt very sick, laughed a ton, ridden horses, loved on my kids, and felt great.” She cried when she initially looked at the photo of the scarring on her head and arm. However, the tears didn’t last.

“Then, I felt a warmness rush through my body and felt so much peace,” she continued. “Peace from the incredible support system I have in my family and friends. Peace from the outpouring of love from y’all on here. Peace in knowing my story could help somebody save their life.”

“I’m feeling pretty good,” Mellencamp said. “I mean, today is day five post immunotherapy, so it’s day four. And five are always the hardest.”

“You know, when people come up to me and they’re like, ‘You’re so strong, you did this.’ I’m like, half the time I’m strong, and half the time I’m crying and sad,” she continued. “[But, at the moment] I feel good. What I’ve learned is that I have amazing kids. I have amazing friends and a support system that’s there for me, and I think that’s huge.”

The reality star said she’s nearing the end of her treatment. “We did a double dose five days ago, and then I have another set next Wednesday,” she said. “And then I hope, hopefully, I’m done.”

Teddi Mellencamp is feeling hopeful. On April 23, 2025, she posted a video to Instagram talking about how her doctors believe she will soon live a cancer-free life.

“I just finished with all of my scans, and my tumors have significantly shrunk,” she said, “which doctors believe means that this all will work and that I will be back to myself and feeling good. I have two more sessions of immunotherapy, and then, hopefully, I am done, and I will be cancer-free. I’m going to keep a positive outlook, because that’s the way my doctor just spoke to me. He’s like, ‘You did this. You got this.'”

In the caption, she noted having six more weeks of immunotherapy.
