‘RHOP’ Star Wendy Osefo Wants Her Criminal Case Severed From Husband Eddie Osefo
Dr. Wendy Osefo is crying foul.
The Real Housewives of Potomac star wants the fraud charges against her dismissed. She argued in a recent legal filing that her October 9 arrest was “illegal” due to “defects in the charging document,” according to legal documents obtained by Us Weekly.

In her filing, Wendy asked that the evidence against her be “suppressed because of an unlawful search or seizure.” She also wants all wire and verbal communications to be “suppressed because of an unlawful interception,” as well as “all admissions, statements, or confessions” she made after her arrest because “they were unlawfully obtained.”
In addition, Osefo appears to be putting distance between herself and her husband, Eddie Osefo, who is also facing felony fraud charges. Her lawyer asked that the “trial of co-defendants be severed from the trial(s) of this Defendant.” Eddie does not yet have a lawyer on record.
The Osefos have been accused of insurance fraud related to a theft they reported at their Maryland home in April 2024. They told police that someone broke into their house and stole $450,000 worth of handbags and jewelry while they were on vacation in Jamaica. But according to investigators, that break-in never happened. Items that were reportedly stolen had either been returned for refunds or were still in the Osefos’ possession, police say. Nonetheless, the Bravo couple made a claim on their insurance for the allegedly stolen property. The pair were “burdened by substantial debt” when they are said to have committed the crime, an investigation found.
Dr. Wendy Osefo bragged about her finances in ‘RHOP’ Season 10 premiere
During the RHOP Season 10 premiere – which aired just days before her and Eddie’s arrest – Wendy bragged about her and her husband’s financial success.
“I’m really proud of Eddie. Happy Eddie is taking off, especially now that it’s in three different states,” she said, speaking about her husband’s cannabis business. “Happy Eddie is – you know – financially successful. Cha-ching!”
“Aren’t you guys proud of me? I started with one state, and now I’m growing the business into multiple states,” Eddie told his and Wendy’s three children in the October 5 episode. “So you can now see, as an entrepreneur, when you put your mind to something, you can grow your business.”
With the business allegedly thriving, Wendy began planning some major renovations to their home. Eddie asked where the money was coming from.
“Happy Eddie is doing very well,” she replied. “Let’s use this drug money, OK?”
Wendy has not directly addressed the allegations against her and her husband. But she did make a statement on social media thanking people for their support.
“And through it all, GOD remains faithful,” she wrote on Instagram on October 19. “Thank you for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers for myself and most importantly my family during this time. We are forever grateful. Tune into @bravotv tonight for a new episode of #RHOP.”
