Sandra Lee, aka Dr. Pimple Popper, Has a New Show on Lifetime
Dr. Pimple Popper has a new TV home. Sandra Lee, a dermatologist known for her gag-inducing reality show about unusual skin conditions, is moving to Lifetime.
“We are SO excited to announce that Lifetime is the new home of [Dr. Pimple Popper],” the network shared on Instagram in early April.
‘Dr. Pimple Popper: Breaking Out’ premieres April 21
Dr. Pimple Popper: Breaking Out, premieres Monday, April 21 at 10 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
At her medical practice in Southern California, Lee encounters the “craziest things most dermatologists have only seen in textbooks,” she says in a teaser for the series.
As in her series on TLC, Lee’s new show highlights her work with patients who are desperate for help with their rare skin problems, including odd growths, unsightly bumps, and painful cysts.
“Dr. Lee is my last hope,” one woman says.
Lee is the second TLC personality to make the leap to Lifetime in recent months. Dr. Younan Nowzaradan of My 600-lb Life also has a new show on the network, The 6000-lb Diaries, which will air later in 2025.
Dr. Sandra Lee says her pimple popping videos are ‘like a car accident’
Lee shot to fame thanks to viral “popping” videos. But when she first started posting to YouTube, she had no idea the gross-out clips would catch up in the way they did.
“It’s been beyond my wildest dreams,” she said in a 2019 interview with Showbiz Cheat Sheet.
“I think the reason is people are initially attracted to it like a car accident, where you can’t look away,” she added. “Like something really strange and different. But in fact, it ends up being where people are actually proud to be part of something that is so heartfelt. It makes people feel good, which is so interesting.”
