‘Sister Wives’ returns with 9 new episodes

Per a TLC press release, Sister Wives is serving up some serious drama for the final five episodes of season 19. The Browns will face some of their toughest moments yet as the one tight unit splinters into four factions.

The press release states, “Sister Wives is back with five all new episodes as the Brown family navigates evolving relationships, living situations, and heartfelt moments. Then, the family sits down individually with host Sukanya Krishnan in four one-on-one episodes to discuss the challenges they have faced over the past year and some of the most talked about moments of the season.”

It continues, “In the upcoming episodes, Christine and David discuss her difficult past with polygamy, while Janelle and her family settle into North Carolina, planning to buy land and start a new chapter. Meri reflects on her strained friendship with Robyn, and the family celebrates Aurora’s baptism.”

The season concludes as “Kody and Robyn discuss the future of their polygamous relationship. And as the season progresses, the family must face a tragic loss with the death of their son Garrison. In moments of reflection and honor, family members come together to share cherished memories, visit places significant to their past, and commemorate his life.”

Following, the adults sit down with Sukanya Krishnan to reflect on the season and their future. These installments will wrap up the longest season in Sister Wives history, 29 episodes in total.

When were the one-on-one episodes filmed?

Sister Wives one-on-one episodes, which conclude season 19, were filmed a whopping seven months before their late May airdate. The installments, where Kody, Meri, Christine, Janelle, and Robyn Brown reflect on the season, were filmed in October 2024.

All that’s happened since these episodes were filmed could make them feel like ancient history. Viewers will likely be highly critical of the content, considering the whirlwind of real-life updates thereafter.

Therefore, as TLC prepares to air these remaining episodes, viewers can expect some drama. These updates include the settling of Coyote Pass, Christine’s paternity suit, Robyn’s doll drama, and Robyn and Kody selling their home and purchasing a $2M Flagstaff Mansion.

On Reddit, Sister Wives viewers weighed in on their hopes for the season and its final four episodes. These installments are a more unscripted version of the events that unfolded throughout season 19.

One viewer wrote, “I am absolutely delighted that Meri is finally seeing Robyn for the manipulative b**** that she is.” A second penned, “Stall Alls. They stall for the first episodes then have 2 minutes of “dirt” we already learned online.”

“It’s been said before but I’ll say it again—make them answer the questions, all on one couch. Or they don’t get paid for the season. I know TLC doesn’t want to tick off their leading show cast but what TLC is missing is that the only two who would complain are the two who need the money the most. The new McMansion has K+R in a financial pickle that could be exploited for a decent tell-all,” deduced a third fan.

Finally, a fourth wrote, “So when all is said and done, we will still be a full year behind real-time when this season wraps up. Cool.”

Sister Wives returns to TLC with all new episodes beginning Sunday, April 20, at 10 p.m. ET. Season 20 is yet to be determined.
