‘The Valley’: Jax Taylor Admits Brittany Cartwright’s Fling With Julian Sensley Was ‘Karma’ for His Bad Behavior
Bravo star Jax Taylor is still smarting over his ex-wife Brittany Cartwright’s fling with his friend Julian Sensley. But he admits that it’s hard for him to play the wronged party given his long history of bad behavior, which includes cheating on Brittany and hooking up with his own friend’s girlfriend.
Jax Taylor says Brittany Cartwright gave him ‘a taste of my own medicine’
The season 2 premiere of The Valley, which aired April 15, dove right into the implosion of Jax and Brittany’s marriage.
The Vanderpump Rules couple announced their split last February, and Brittany filed for divorce in August. The two had long had a tumultuous relationship, which was exacerbated by Jax’s substance abuse problems. During their separation, Brittany hooked up with Julian, a friend of Jax’s, which he saw as a major betrayal.
On The Valley: After Show (via Bravo), Jax explained why he had such an explosive reaction when he learned Brittany was seeing his friend.
“I know we made the point that we could see other people,” he said. “It was just the fact that it was a friend of mine. And I think that’s what hurt the most.”
“Now, that being said, we all know what I did in the past with Tom [Sandoval] and Kristen [Doute],” he continued, referring to his hookup with his friend’s girlfriend during Vanderpump Rules Season 2. “It was karma and I got a taste of my own medicine.”
Jax wanted to cast Brittany as ‘the bad guy,’ ‘The Valley’ co-stars say

Jax and Brittany’s The Valley castmates had a theory about why Jax took Brittany to task for her relationship with Julian.
“He was the bad guy for so long in their relationship and marriage that when he saw an opportunity to paint her at all as the bad guy he jumped on it and made things seem different than they really were so that she would look worse than the truth really is,” said Janet Caperna.
Jax wanted to find “the one thing” he could “glom onto” that would make Brittany look like a “terrible person,” said Zack Wickham. “And now he’s the victim.”
“He believes his own lies,” said Brittany, adding that Jax couldn’t handle that she was moving on from their marriage. “It didn’t matter if it was Julian. It still to this day doesn’t matter who it is. He freaks out about everything.”
The Valley airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo. Episodes stream the next day on Peacock. The Valley: After Show streams on BravoTV.com, Peacock, and YouTube.
