While Theresa Nist, Turner’s ex-wife, insists she’s happy that Turner has found someone who makes him happy after their divorce, she’s not thrilled with the way he portrayed the end of their short-lived marriage. Nist is still a bit bothered by Turner’s ascertain that his cancer diagnosis influenced her decision to end the marriage. She says it had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Theresa Nist recently sat down for an interview with Us Weekly and talked openly about the end of her marriage to Turner. While Nist says she’s happy Turner has found a partner, she seems pretty bothered by the fact that he painted her as uncaring after their marriage ended.
In recent interviews, Turner revealed a cancer diagnosis. He said he was diagnosed with a rare cancer while married to Nist and claimed the diagnosis was part of the reason the marriage ended. The retiree claimed the diagnosis changed his perspective, and he suggested it had also played into Nist’s decisions about their marriage. Nist, a New Jersey resident, wishes Turner had spoken only for himself. She is adamant that the diagnosis did not impact her feelings on the relationship, nor would she have left a partner while they were sick. During her chat with US Weekly, Nist pointed out that she cared for her late husband during several years of a serious illness, which ultimately led to his death.
Nist’s husband, Bill Nist, died in 2014 at 63. She’s never explained the exact cause of his death. Still, she did note that he had trouble with his kidneys in the years before his passing. Nist and her husband were married for 42 years when he died.

According to several sources, she is a retired teacher in her 50s. Sutton comes from Indiana, too. Sutton and Turner, who is 73, have been dating since March, but Turner has said it was “love at first sight.”
