When Calls the Heart’s loyal fans have helped make the show Hallmark’s longest-running original series.

When Calls the Heart Season 12 ended with Elizabeth learning that her son Little Jack (Hyland Goodrich) had diabetes. While she was able to get him enrolled in a clinical trial for the then-new drug insulin, problems with the medication forced her to make an emergency trip to Cape Fullerton in the season finale, where there is a state-of-the-art lab and hospital capable of treating Jack’s condition. At the last moment, Elizabeth’s love Mountie Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry) and his daughter Allie (Jaeda Lily Miller) caught up with her as she was leaving town.
“We’ll figure it out. Together,” Nathan assured Elizabeth. “Where you go, I go.”
In a voiceover, Elizabeth noted that while things seemed “uncertain,” she was confident that she, Nathan, and their children would return to Hope Valley, “no matter what.”
