‘With Love, Meghan’ Season 2 Reviews May Not Be as Harsh Thanks to Netflix’s ‘Clever’ Move
With Love, Meghan Season 2 is on the way without as much harsh criticism if Netflix’s “clever” move works. Meghan Markle’s new series has been slammed by many since its debut, but the streamer reportedly has a way to combat criticism in future episodes.
Netflix has renewed ‘With Love, Meghan’ for another season despite harsh reviews
Netflix announced With Love, Meghan Season 2 just a few days after the first installment premiered on March 4, 2025, in a Tudum press release. The streamer also revealed that production on the second season had already wrapped.
The announcement came amid largely scathing reviews from TV critics and audiences alike. Descriptions of the show included words like “unbearable” and “fake.”
Meghan, for her part, shared the news in an Instagram video featuring ASMR (Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response) clips from the show. “Oh, how I love ASMR! If you’re loving Season 1, just wait until you see the fun we cooked up in Season 2!” Meghan wrote in the caption. “Thanks for joining the party, and an endless thanks to the amazing team and crew who helped bring it all to life!”
With Love, Meghan Season 1 guests included chefs and restauranteurs such as Roy Choi and Alice Waters. Some of Meghan’s friends, like her former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer and longtime make-up artist Daniel Martin, also made appearances.
Filming ‘With Love, Meghan’ Seasons 1 and 2 ‘back-to-back’ allows for ‘edits’ based on reviews
Speaking to the Daily Mail, an insider shared that although With Love, Meghan Season 2 is coming, that doesn’t mean Meghan and Prince Harry’s five-year Netflix contract has been renewed.
“I know they filmed the shows back-to-back,” the source said. “So, in theory, there is no second season. It’s like with lots of Netflix shows; it is already in the bag at the same time as the first one.”
With Love, Meghan filmed in Montecito, Calif., near the home Meghan shares with Prince Harry. Production wrapped in the summer of 2024, per a previous report.
Here’s where the “clever” move comes in that could potentially see fewer scathing reviews from critics and audiences alike for With Love, Meghan Season 2. “What this does,” the insider explained, “is allow edits to be made to the show from feedback from press and Netflix viewers.”
“It’s clever and cost-effective,” they added, reiterating that “the overall contract hasn’t been renewed yet.”
They also shared that all the negative reviews have Netflix bosses “worried,” especially since they’ve partnered with Meghan on her As Ever lifestyle brand. “Netflix bosses are all worried now because they have invested a lot in the product line. They don’t know when and how to roll it all out.” However, one Netflix source did reportedly tell The Sun they’re happy with the coverage and interest in With Love, Meghan.
As Ever products are expected to launch in Netflix’s new brick and mortar stores and online in the coming months. They’ll also reportedly be available at Pennsylvania’s King of Prussia Mall and Dallas Galleria in Texas.
When With Love, Meghan premiered, a first-look at the products—without prices—appeared on As Ever’s website. So far, the products include tea, honey, jam, flower sprinkles, crepe mix, and pancake mix.
‘With Love, Meghan’ Season 2 doesn’t have a release date yet
At the time of writing, the release date for the second installment of Meghan’s Netflix show has yet to be announced. However, fans won’t have to wait too long, according to the streamer. Why? In the press release for With Love, Meghan Season 2, Netflix revealed the show will return “later this fall.”
So there’s a chance new episodes could premiere in late September 2025 at the earliest. (The first day of fall is on Sept. 22, 2025.) Or, perhaps, a little later, in October 2025 or November 2025, heading into the holiday season.
