Marilyn Monroe was an American actor. She died in 1962 at the age of 36 reportedly of a drug overdose at her LA home.
She started her career as a model and signed her first movie role in 1946. This contract created the image and name the world knows today: She dyed her hair blonde and started going by Marilyn Monroe.
Some of Monroe's most notable roles include All About Eve (1950), Monkey Business(1952), Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953), How to Marry a Millionaire (1953), Niagara (1953) by Henry Hathaway, The Seven Year Itch (1955), and Some Like It Hot (1959). The latter earned her a Golden Globe for the category "Actress In A Leading Role - Musical Or Comedy" in 1960.
