Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson, who many have dubbed the "King of Pop," was a singer, songwriter, and dancer. He popularized complicated dance moves like the moonwalk and had massive hits like “Beat It,” “Billie Jean,” and “Thriller.”
His career began in 1964 as a member of Motown group Jackson 5, which included his siblings Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon. He started his solo career in 1971, and by the ’80s, he was a pop icon. Jackson received 13 Grammy Awards and 38 nominations.
In the ’90s and 2000s, Jackson faced allegations of child molestation, but he was never indicted.
He died of an overdose from drugs administered by his personal physician, who later was convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
