Drake is a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer who first gained popularity on the TV show Degrassi: Next Generation. He left the show, where he played Jimmy Brooks, to chase a music career. He released three mixtapes before signing with Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment label.
Drake released his debut studio album Thank Me Later in 2010. He rose to fame with later albums, such as Take Care and Nothin Was the Same, and has since won four Grammys. In 2012, he founded the OVO Sound label. The following year, he became the global ambassador for the NBA team Toronto Raptors.
