Sons of Anarchy
Sons of Anarchy
After contributing to FX's The Shield, writer/actor Kurt Sutter moved on to create and direct Sons of Anarchy, which premiered in 2008. Starring English heartthrob Charlie Hunnam, the crime drama follows a rebellious motorcycle group in Charming, a fictional town in California. Hunnam's Jax Teller questions his loyalty to his club as he navigates love and life as the Sons of Anarchy vice president and later president.
Other than Teller, fans enjoyed notable main characters like Gemma Teller Morrow (Katey Sagal), Clay Morrow (Ron Perlman), Dr. Tara Knowles (Maggie Siff), Kip "Half-Sack" Epps (Johnny Lewis), and Opie Winston (Ryan Hurst). Sons of Anarchy became FX's highest-rated series in network history. After the series finale in 2014, producers launched a spinoff series, Mayans M.C., that follows a Latino motorcycle club.
