Addison Rae Explains Why Fans Won’t Hear Much About Politics From Her
Many celebrities often voice their opinions about political topics nowadays. However, one star who has chosen to stay mum is TikTok sensation Addison Rae Easterling. This is no coincidence either. Easterling recently talked her decision to not promote political views with her platform.
Fans have long wondered about Addison Rae’s political views
Easterling is one of the most followed people on TikTok. As such, fans have been interested in knowing where she stands on political issues.
According to Distractify, some people thought she supported the Republican Party after fans spotted what may have been a “Trump 2020” flag in her room. Another TikTok user also claimed to have found her voter registration, which said she was a registered Republican.
However, Easterling responded to these claims and said they were false. According to her, the “flag” was actually a beach towel. She also told fans the alleged voter registration was fake because she had not registered to vote yet at the time.
Addison Rae does not want to speak out about political topics
Fans will continue to wonder where Easterling stands on divisive issues, but she will mostly leave them wondering. In a new interview with Bustle, Easterling revealed her reason for staying neutral when it comes to politics.
“I don’t think people should ever feel like they need to speak on everything that happens… and that’s kind of where I’m at right now,” she said. “If I know I’m fully educated on it, then I will allow myself to speak on it. I definitely think it’s a weird position to be in, when you don’t really know what you need to say.”
Addison Rae recently dealt with a social justice issue
Easterling may choose to stay quiet, but she still occasionally finds herself dealing with controversies involving potentially-political topics.
For example, just recently, she appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with a segment where she showcased viral TikTok dances. However, onlookers criticized Easterling and Jimmy Fallon for not giving credit to the original creators of those dances, many of whom are people of color.
In response, as Bustle reported, Easterling said, “It’s kind of hard to credit during the show, but they all know that I love them so much and, I mean, I support all of them so much. Hopefully one day we can all meet up and dance together.”
Meanwhile, Fallon made up for the mistake by inviting the creators on to his show to talk about and showcase their dances.
