Addison Rae Was Bullied as a Kid Because Her Family Didn’t Have Money
Addison Rae Easterling is one of the most popular stars on TikTok. She has millions of fans online and is even friends with Kourtney Kardashian.
However, Easterling was not always popular with her peers growing up. She once recalled being bullied at school because her family did not have money.
Addison Rae lived in an RV growing up
Easterling grew up in Louisiana. Her mother, Sheri Nicole Easterling, was a single mom for much of Easterling’s childhood. Sheri had an on-and-off relationship with Easterling’s father, Monty Lopez.
As Easterling shared on the first episode of her and Sheri’s podcast, That Was Fun?, that when Easterling was seven, she and her family moved into an RV.
“My dad worked in the trailer business, and they also had a brother business with RVs—they owned an RV lot,” Easterling said. “They let us use [an RV] because we didn’t have anywhere to live.”
Easterling clarified that the home was more like a camper, and she especially disliked showering in it.

When Easterling was in fifth grade, her family moved to Texas. They lived there for about two years before moving back to Louisiana. This time, they lived in a different part of the state than where they were originally from.
At the time, Easterling’s family lived in an apartment because they couldn’t buy a house yet. The apartment was furnished with outdoor chairs and a plastic dining room table.
Easterling had to enroll at a new school, and she recalled being immediately bullied by fellow classmates for her clothes.
She recalled, “I had Ugg, but they weren’t Uggs. They were Bear Paws, which is still a great brand… But people didn’t know Bear Paws as openly as they knew Uggs, so they saw my Bear Paws shoes and they literally bullied me. ‘You can’t afford real Uggs? Like, that’s embarrassing.’ So mean to me.”
Easterling cried when she came home. Despite being strapped for cash, Sheri decided to help her daughter fix the situation.
“My mom, being the sweet mom that you are, was like, ‘We’re gonna buy you Uggs so that people aren’t mean to you anymore,’” Easterling said. “She literally [took] me to buy Uggs that day. I remember we went to the mall… They were, like, $200 Uggs, which was not cheap for us.”
Sheri admitted a part of her felt “guilty” that her daughter had to go to a new school and deal with a difficult situation. In any case, Easterling said she is “very thankful” for what her mom did.

Much of Easterling’s earnings come from advertising with brands on social media and selling merchandise.
