Charli and Dixie D’Amelio’s popularity blew up in the last year

Charli was the first sister to gain attention on TikTok. She began posting dance videos on the platform in 2019. By the fall of that year, she had amassed a huge number of followers.

In March 2020, Charli officially became the most followed person on TikTok, taking the title from the previous holder, singer Loren Gray.

Thanks to Charli’s success, her older sister Dixie started becoming well-known as well. Charli currently has 99.5 million followers. Meanwhile, Dixie is the seventh most followed person on the app with 43.9 followers.

Charli and Dixie D’Amelio’s behavior in a new video caught the internet’s attention

Thanks to Charli and Dixie’s TikTok fame, the girls and their parents, Marc and Heidi, have been able to find success on YouTube as well. They started a channel called The D’Amelio Family, where they regularly post videos of various activities they do together as a family.

In the latest video, which is believed to be the first installment in a series of videos called “Dinner With The D’Amelios,” the family had dinner with YouTuber James Charles. Here, Charli and Dixie’s behavior caught the internet’s attention.

The family’s dinner was cooked by chef Aaron May, and Charli and Dixie did not seem to hide their distaste for the food. In one instance, Dixie made a gagging face at the sight of a snail in her paella. Then, she went outside and threw up. Not long after, Charli decided to ask for “Dino Nuggets.”

At the end of the video, Charli talked about her follower count on TikTok, noting that she wished she could have received 100 million followers a year after she hit her 1 million mark. When Charles pointed out that she had 95 million followers already, Charli simply said that she prefers “even numbers.”

Fans slam the D’Amelio sisters for acting ‘spoiled’

Shortly after the video was posted, much of the comment section got flooded with fans’ reactions to Charli and Dixie’s behavior. Many of them criticized the sisters for acting “spoiled.”

“The chef graciously cooked them a beautiful dinner and Dixie thinks it’s okay to just throw up everywhere and then Charli asks if they have Dino Nuggets,” one person wrote. “That’s completely disrespectful.”

Another viewer commented, “Say whatever you want about James Charles but at least he has some manners unlike these spoiled girls.”

Some people also expressed disappointment in the fact that Charli and Dixie’s parents did not seem to scold them in the video. Instead, Charles was the only one who showed some negative reactions to the girls’ behavior.

Of course, it’s important to note that one YouTube video is not a good way to gauge anybody’s personality or character. However, given Charli and Dixie’s popularity among tweens and teens, some people believe they should not have displayed such behavior for their young fan base to see.
